The purpose of this Code of Ethics is to set forth minimum standards to which RTBCA members shall adhere. This COE is intended to guide us in dealing with each other and our actions as representatives of the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka breed. Adopted June 27, 2022
• Agree to follow the regulations as set forth by the American Kennel Club as they pertain to my purebred dog activities.
• Agree to abide by and uphold the principles of the Constitution and By-Laws and the Code of Ethics of the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka Club of America.
• Always be professional and courteous when representing the breed and club.
• Encourage others to work toward the betterment of this breed and club.
• Only exhibit dogs that meet the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka Breed Standard.
• Furnish either a signed AKC Registration Application, Transfer of Ownership, or Limited Registration Certificate, plus a 3-generation pedigree with each puppy or dog sold. I may have a written agreement with the purchaser at the time of the sale that AKC Registration papers will be withheld.
• Never knowingly breed a dog or bitch before the dog or bitch is eighteen months of age. I will never breed any dog or bitch that is not in good health.
• Encourage and promote responsible breeding practices.
• Encourage spaying or neutering of animals not desirable for breeding.
• Never knowingly sell my puppies to pet shops or commercial pet mill establishments, nor will I donate puppies for raffles or auctions.
• Not deliberately crossbreed.
• Do Not give stud service to unregistered bitches.
• Not sell my puppies at less than twelve (12) weeks of age.
• Maintain the best possible standard of health and care in all of my dogs and see that puppies are immunized and checked for parasites. I will furnish complete health records, care, feeding, and grooming instructions with each puppy sold.
• Keep alert for and work to control and/or eradicate inherited problems and conditions that are particular to my breed, and breed as closely to the AKC standard for the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka as possible.
• Represent my dogs as honestly as possible to prospective buyers and try to assist the serious novice in his understanding of the breed.
• Always display good sportsmanship, both in the show ring and at all RTBCA club functions. In conjunction with this, no Club member will degrade or berate any other member, their kennel, or their participation in Club activities in all forms of communication including, but not limited to, social media.
• Refrain from deceptive or erroneous advertising.
