To be listed on the Breeder Referral page, the breeder must be a current member in good standing of the Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka Club of America for at least one (1) year. *A member listing on the Breeder Referral Page of the club website will incur an additional fee which is due annually on January 1st for a listing that year.
RTBCA makes no warranty or guarantee about any breeder or the puppies from any breeder.
We recommend that prospective Bolonka owners be prepared to ask the breeder about a sales contract, any guarantee on the dog, and any age-appropriate health testing that has been performed on the dog and its parents.
The RTBCA also strongly recommends that the eyes and patellas of dogs one year of age or older should be examined by qualified veterinarians, and the results of those examinations sent to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). Additional health testing of Bolonka adults may be recommended, pending results of a comprehensive health survey currently being developed by the OFA.
Breeders should also provide an AKC Registration Certificate or Litter Certificate so that dogs can be transferred to the new owner in AKC records. The Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka is currently part of the AKC Foundation Stock Service (FSS), and it is important that all puppy and adult Bolonka registrations be completed so that the breed meets the AKC requirements to move forward to full recognition of the breed. Every registration that is sent to the AKC helps the breed achieve that goal.
